Who is behind Aspired Sojourns?

I am Michelle Souza and I have a passion for planning and travel and am grateful that I get to combine the two as my career.

I am a South African, currently living in Chicagoland, having previously lived in Brazil and attended high school in Singapore.

I have travelled to over 40 countries and counting. I am always looking for the next adventure and experience. My personal preference is to travel in a way that gives me the most exposure to the country or city I am visiting. I love to learn and experience other cultures

South Africa
My heart belongs to Africa. The wildlife, the people, the diversity of nature, the weather, the food. There is so much more to South Africa than Cape Town and Safari and I would love to show more people this side.
Melbourne
Melbourne is a melting pot, it has so much culture and art. There are secret alleys, and tiny coffee shops. A wine region close by, the great ocean road and great food everywhere you turn.
Koh Samui
I have been to Samui at least 4 times. It is slightly less touristy than Phuket, and there are busy areas and quiet areas, temples, waterfalls, markets, Thai boxing and beautiful beaches.
Singapore
Nothing beats hawker centre food in Singapore, I crave it as soon as the plane takes off. They also have plenty of Michelin starred restaurants on the small island. But sharing satay, sambal stingray, pepper crab, roti pratas and Tiger beers at a table with friends is unbeatable.
